Project Professional Windsurfing Association
Role Social Media & Event Manager
Key Points Social Media management / Event management / International events / On site coordination / Communication
Within the Professional Windsurfing Association, I travelled with the world tour, first as Social Media Manager and later as Event Manager.
In 2019, I took on the role of Social Media Manager for the PWA World Tour, where I developed and structured the social media approach across events. I introduced a more consistent way of working, from setting up event based content structures and hashtag strategies to aligning communication between riders, sponsors, industry and the organisation.
A key part of my role was connecting all parties involved, making sure content was not only created, but also shared in a way that reflected the full story of the tour. During events, I focused on real time storytelling, increasing visibility and creating a more balanced and engaging view of the athletes, both on and off the water.
Alongside this, I contributed ideas to improve content output, including a stronger focus on video, behind the scenes content and new ways of sharing the windsurfing lifestyle with a global audience.
After three years, I moved into the role of Event Manager, taking on responsibility for the delivery of international competitions in locations such as Gran Canaria (Spain), Sylt (Germany) and Yokosuka (Japan). I worked closely with the tour manager and local organisers to make sure everything ran as planned.
A dynamic environment where everything happens at once and timing is key.

Live with an iPhone
in 2019
The story behind this moment is that without my iPhone, and the determination of the team, we would not have captured Enrico Marotti’s first reaction after winning his first ever final on the world tour.
We worked until late the previous day to set up the livestream through our phones. We wanted to stay flexible, both on the beach and on the media boat.
We got it working, and this was the result the next morning.
