Together with Ritske Merkus, I started SUP11 X in 2017. Inspired by the SUP 11-City Tour, we organise multi-day Stand Up Paddle adventures in beautiful places around the world.

SUP11 X is all about Stand Up Paddling, exploring new places and bringing people together.

What started with the SUP 11-City Tour in Friesland, The Netherlands has grown into different SUP adventures, including SUP11 Islands in Thailand and SUP11 Stones in Croatia. But also SUP11 Sights in Berlin and SUP11 Rocks on Ibiza.

Each event has its own character, but they all have something in common: challenging yourself on the water, discovering beautiful places and sharing the experience with people from all over the world.

My role & skills

Being one of the founders means I'm involved in almost everything. From the first ideas and finding the right locations to planning, logistics and making sure everything is ready when our participants arrive.

A big part of my work is connecting with local people and building relationships with partners. Especially when organising events abroad, where we often start from scratch.

Together with Ritske and our team of volunteers, I work on creating events where everything comes together. And when the event starts, I'm right there making sure things run as planned. Or finding a solution when they don't.

What I really love about SUP11 X is the combination of organising, working with people and discovering new places. Even after all these years, every edition brings something new.
